In a bid to add what seems to be Marvel's idea of freshness to a character and its' rogues, Loki, Bullseye and Mr. Sinister have all gone tranny on us.

Loki, as it were, is a reincarnation of the classic that we've all come to know. As Thor is restoring Asgard and its inhabitants to rural mid-west America, Loki is reincarnated as female. An eyebrow-less female, no less. The Trickster God is still as she was once, conniving and manipulative, only now it comes more naturally.

The Lady Bullseye character is a new one altogether.
Her debut is slated for September 24th, so other than being Asian and having a ridiculous costume, not much is known about her. Ed Brubaker is writing her so I will give him the benefit of the doubt, but chopsticks in a bun? 10 bucks she offers Matt a happy ending after beating the snot out of him.

Miss Sinister (should have been Mistress Sinister) is seemingly a DNA induced rebirth of Mr. Sinister. Apparently when he was choosing which carriers to house his DNA in, he had it in the back of his mind that he would like to know how it felt to wear frilly underwear and know what boys want. I'm glad he had the leather corset and thigh-high boots on call just in case.

My suggestion to Marvel is to keep going. Why stop now? Here, I'll help. I present to you, She-Jugg:

Top Cow Pilot Season winners

Top Cow today announced the winners of the 2008 Pilot season; Twilight Guardian by Troy Hickman and Reza and Genius by Marc Bernardin, Adam Freeman and Afua Richardson.

Twilight Guardian follows a (powerless) girl who patrols a nine-block radius every night, and the adventures that may entail effectively being a neighborhood watch of one.

Genius takes a teenage girl out of the ghetto and makes her into a military savant.

“I’m shocked, really,” said Adam Freeman. “Genius is not a traditional comic and I suppose that is one of its greatest assets as well as its biggest obstacle. We weren’t sure how readers would react but we knew it was a story we were passionate about. Kudos to Top Cow for being the only publisher willing to take that risk with us. Someone wiser than me once said, ‘Never underestimate your audience’ and, truth be told, we did a little on this one. We didn’t think people would ‘get it’ but apparently they did.”

To be honest, I wasn't one who got it. Under-priveledged-adolescent-war-tactitian-drama is too tight a niche for me.

Personally I would have liked to seen Urban Myths
